Strengths
-
I thrive in a group environment and am proactive in creating opportunities for collaboration with peers and outreach in the community.
At UCLA, I founded a monthly department-sponsored networking event focused on increasing communication and collaboration between early-career scientists.
I also served as a Scientific Outreach and Donor Liaison for the UCLA Cardiovascular Theme, where I had the chance to interact with physicians, scientists, patients and philanthropic members of the community.
Every scientific project I have contributed to is a product of successful multidisciplinary collaboration, and I strive to continue to forge meaningful partnerships throughout my career.
-
As a successful grant writer, award-winning public speaker and author of 15 peer-reviewed scientific publications, I’m committed to communicating scientific discovery
I look forward to scientific meetings and regularly attend and present original research at annual conferences held by American Heart Association, American Thoracic Association and the Organization of the Study of Sex Differences.
I’ve also presented at public heath events focused on Women’s Heart Health and have experience teaching science at the undergraduate and graduate level.
Successful communication takes research beyond the bench.

Science is my lifelong passion; as such, I have years of experience as a scientist in both industry and academia.
From my background in industry, I have expertise writing Standard Operating Procedures, spearheading R&D projects and developing bioassays for commercial use.
In an academic setting, I have in-depth knowledge and skills in multiple fields, including cardiopulmonary disease, genetics and inflammation— resulting in numerous grants, awards and 15 peer-reviewed publications.
My research uncovered a gene on the Y chromosome as protective against experimental pulmonary hypertension and elucidated the downstream protective mechanism.
I also identified novel inflammatory drug targets and performed preclinical studies using a repurposed drug.
These data can be found in my first author paper in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine (impact factor 30.5).
The intersection of science and healthcare is powerful, and I have a deep understanding of basic science research, preclinical trials and drug development.
